Verduzzo – IGT delle Venezie 2016

Local grape of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Verduzzo grapes have particularly high levels of tannin. While Verduzzo wines are never as tannic as even the softest reds, they are noticeably more astringent than other white wines.

Our Verduzzo is a passito wine made by drying the grape to near raisins after they are late harvested.

Winemaking: grapes are hand-picked and stored on indoor trellises until November. The must reaches a balanced and rich complexity. We destem these grapes manually and after soft pressing the golden must is left to ferment in stainless steel tank very slowly due to his high sugar content until the next spring. We obtain a Verduzzo with an elegant sweetness that never fails.
